Participedians may be interested in a new report from the IBM Center for The Business of Government. The report is entitled: ‘Engaging Citizens in Co-Creation in Public Services’. The authors, Satish Nambisan and Priya Nambisan, present four roles that citizens can play in the co-creation of public services.

Calling for Nominations for the Penn State Democracy Medal

The Democracy Institute at Penn State has established a Democracy Medal. Each year, the medal will be awarded for “exceptional innovations that advance the design and practice of democracy.” The winner will receive $5,000 and be invited to give a talk at Penn State. New book about the Australian Citizens’ Parliament

Lyn Carson, John Gastil, Janette Hartz-Karp, and Ron Lubensky have edited a new book about the Australian Citizens’ Parliament. The book contains 22 chapters on a wide range of related topics including institutional design and innovation, deliberation, the flow of beliefs and ideas, facilitation and organizer effects, as well as impacts and reflections.
